Services We Provide ...

  • 911 - Advanced Life Support

When you call 911 you will be sent an ambulance.  On this ambulance are trained professionals who will assess your emergency condition and give you a recommendation about your condition.  You always have the right to be transported to any hospital with-in St. Francois County.

  • Emergency Transfers

There are times when your condition may warrant the specialize treatment only a hospital in St. Louis or elsewhere can provide.  In these cases, after a medical screening by a doctor in one of the county's emergency rooms, you can be transferred to those out-of-county hospitals.

Now, SFCAD had many paramedics trained in Critical Care Transport.  This is a special course designed to train paramedics how to transport patients who are critically injured or ill.    Families of patients should be more relaxed knowing their loved ones are in capable hands.

  • Non-Emergent Transfers

There are some in the community who can not travel in any manner besides an ambulance.  For these patients we have a non-emergent service available.  These transfers are handled after all 911 calls are handled.   This service is for home to hospital, hospital to hospital, or hospital to home.

  • Wheel Chair Van Transport

There are times when an ambulance may not be exactly what you need.  There are calls that although may appear very serious, don't fit into what an insurance company would consider an emergency.  In some circumstance a wheel chair van ride to the hospital can save an ambulance bill for the patient.  The Wheel Chair Van has an Emergency Medical Technician for an attendant, and can provide oxygen while en-route.

Also there are times when transport by wheelchair is the only practical method of transportation.  These time our Wheel Chair Van is a perfect option.  This service at present time runs from 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday excluding Holidays.

  • Event Stand-Byes

Where ever large crowds gather, St. Francois county Ambulance district is there providing emergency medical coverage. Whether it is an extra crew or a whole extra team, SFCAD is ready to provide this needed service.

  • Community Information and Education

SFCAD keeps the community informed through a variety of programs.  Newsletters, website, handouts, speaking engagements, presentations, demonstrations, ambulance showcases, and many others are the way SFCAD stays close to its community.
